No. In July of 2014 SB 1672 went into effect, making it a crime for inspectors to give (or agents to receive) referral fees for inspection activity. Any inspector offering (or agent accepting) a referral fee in return for inspection referrals risks the suspension or termination of their professional license, fines and potentially prosecution.
Agent referrals to DMI therefore are driven by the agent’s knowledge that inspections performed by DMI are accurate, trusted by carriers, and provided with excellent customer service for more than a decade.
