What exactly are the construction features that can qualify for discounts?

1. A proven 2001 FBC (or 1994 SFBC) roof covering on all roof systems.
2. Opening Protective Devices, such as shutters or impact-tested windows, on all openings.
3. Roof straps or other strong roof-to-wall connections to tie the roof system down to the walls.
4. A valid secondary water resistant barrier in the attic or on the roof to help prevent water intrusion.
5. Strong roof deck attachments to strongly fasten the roof deck to the trusses or rafters.
6. A roof for which nearly all of the perimeter is “hip-shaped”.
